Frequently Asked Questions!
How Does It Work? What Is This Place?
Pikasso Swig is a Do-It-Yourself Craft Bar. That means you can come in and choose from 40+ Projects. Everyone in your group can choose something different, so it's great for all ages. Kids can choose projects for their skill level and so can adults. Our Pikasso team is here to assist you but you are creating your own masterpiece.
What Are The Prices of Projects? Crafts range from $10-$45 depending on the project you choose. i.e. Small ceramics or jewelry may be $10, while large wood seasonal signs may be $45. We change our projects often and you can view current projects here. Pricing is always per person, unless you have a special package arranged.
Is This A Paint & Sip Studio?
We do Paint & Sip Classes on Thursdays and privately by request but our menu is much more extensive. We are so much more than painting! We offer ceramics, leather, string art, jewelry making, sand art, glass etching & more. That being said, you can ALWAYS come in and paint.
What Age Is Pikasso Swig Appropriate For?
All ages! We have crafted with 1-year-olds and 81-year-olds! There is always something for everyone! Everyone is an artist and this is a place to explore and try new things at any age.
Do I Have To Make An Appointment? Can I Just Walk-In?
We do require an appointment! Due to staffing and because we cater to lots of different ages, it is best to see availability by checking our website openings. Sometimes private events rent out our entire space and those days and times will be reflected on our booking schedule.
Do You Serve Food & Drinks? Can I Bring My Own?
We have a full locally sourced menu with appetizers, entrees, cocktails, mocktails, beer and wine. You can see our full menu here. Outside food and drinks are NOT allowed due to ABC and Health Department regulations. We can cater to pretty much any preference including GF, Vegan, Dairy-Free, etc. but if you have a special request, please call ahead and we are happy to accommodate. Please be advised we are NOT a Gluten-Free facility.
Can I Host A Private Party?
Of course! We can host craft parties, paint and sip parties, birthdays, divorces, engagements, retirement, team building, holiday, the list goes on. Let's celebrate. Every party is customized for you and no party is ever the same. We take care of everything from balloons, food, dessert, drinks, crafts, invitations, and everything in between.
How Do Kids Parties Work?
At Pikasso Swig, kids get to design their own parties. THEY can choose their theme and craft from our extensive selection or choose to design their own event. This is designed to empower kids of all ages and allows them to create their dream party. Learn more here.
Where Do I Park?
There is plenty of parking downtown. There is free street parking on Garrett Street behind our building or two parking facilities across the street. At the Water street garage, the first hour is free and additional hours of parking are $2.

Pikasso Swig- The Art of Us!
Pikasso Swig isn't your average craft bar – it's a dream spun from color, creativity, and a whole lotta heart (and maybe a few glasses of wine!). As a locally and woman-owned business, we're obsessed with spreading the joy of art. Picture this: I envisioned a place where people could ditch the daily grind, unleash their inner artist (even if they think they don't have one!), connect with friends, and maybe even discover a hidden talent. One fateful evening, with a glass of wine whispering sweet artistic nothings in my ear, I bought the domain name, and BAM! Pikasso Swig was born!
My adventure started in 2019, just before the world went a little topsy-turvy, when I took a leap of faith, leaving behind a successful career in Marketing to open Pikasso Swig. Our first location opened that year, but then, like a phoenix rising from the ashes of… well, a slightly less ideal location, we landed in our awesome downtown Charlottesville digs in 2021, all thanks to a random Craigslist ad my aunt stumbled upon while chilling in Florida! The space needed a tad bit of TLC (it was previously a very serious blue-walled office), but we saw the artistic explosion waiting to happen. And let's talk about color! I'm a color fanatic – the bolder, the crazier, the better! If you agree, we're soulmates.
"The Swig" has been the wildest, most rewarding dream ever. My absolute favorite thing? The pure, unadulterated joy! From birthday bashes to kids discovering the magic of creation for the first time, we're part of so many happy moments. It's seriously the best feeling. And I definitely couldn't have done it without my amazing Pikasso Swig crew – each and every one of them brings their own unique brand of awesome to the table. They're not just employees, they're family (and I hope they feel the same!). And speaking of family, my dad, Bob Schwartz (a retired corrections officer – talk about a career change!), has been my biggest supporter since he moved down from New York in 2021 to lend a hand. He's a Swig legend – you'll probably meet him when you visit; he's always buzzing around, offering dadly advice (and probably cracking a joke or two).
As a local business, we're on a mission to bring Pikasso Swig to everyone! We're constantly dreaming up new projects and craft kits that we ship nationwide. These kits were a lifesaver during the pandemic – a little box of creativity delivered right to your door. My own artistic journey? I started persuing a degree in Speech Pathology (who knew?), but my heart always belonged to art. It's hard to describe what this whole experience has meant, but I'm beyond grateful to open our doors every day. Your support, your laughter, your creativity – it's what keeps Pikasso Swig alive and kicking. Every visit, every kit, every celebration makes a difference. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being part of the Pikasso Swig family.
With love & color,
